CLIMATE:

Our hunting season is February - November, with the best hunting period being in the winter months (April - September). In these months it is dry season in South Africa, the trees have lost their leaves and the grass planes have been grazed, making the spotting of animals easier.
The day temperatures vary between 15°C - 23°C, but can sink to 0°C at night.

In the summer time (October - March) temperatures vary between 23°C - 35°C.
In November the rainy season starts and the bush is turned into a thick green blanket. This is also the time when the most game species have their young.
May, April and September are the months with the most pleasant weather.

RIFLES AND AMMUNITION:

For African game it would be wise to use a rifle with a minimum caliber of 7mm. Although the species, terrain and habitat vary, we would recommend the 300 Win Mag or 375 H&H.
We suggest a soft nose bullet.
Please feel free to discuss your choice of rifle and ammunition before your departure.

CLOTHES AND WHAT TO BRING?

We would recommend light cotton clothing, but for the chilly early mornings, late afternoons and evenings in the winter months, we advise warm clothing.
·    Long- and short sleeved shirts
·    Long- and short trousers
·    Ankle high hunting shoes
·    Casual shoes for the evenings at the camp
·    Warm jacket and a sweater
·    A day back-pack
·    Binoculars, sunglasses, hat and torch
·    Personal medication and Sun lotion (recommended factor +30)
·    Camera, extra films and batteries
·    Laundering is done on a daily basis (except Sundays), so it is not necessary to bring a too large quantity of hunting clothes.
